An artisan sits down to build a commissioned dog house for outdoor adventure lovers.  These adventurers enjoy camping so much that they must bring the dog along.  This dog loooooves to sleep in tents!  This dog needs a tent-shaped dog house for when the family is living back on the home front.  How does this craftsperson make a plan to build this tent from a pile of wood, fabric and metal?  Well, he or she must make a 

 to know exactly what she needs, and how much of it.  The craftsperson can first sit down and draw a 

 to make sure that the house will be functional without having to build the real, life-sized domicile.  

Think back to all of the regular shapes that we have discussed in class, especially triangles and quadrilaterals.  Think about which of these shapes you’d like to use.

In the intro, a hypothetical situation illustrates what your project is all about.  Let’s look at some examples of how people actually use the technique in real life.

Now, think of a fairly geometric object that you could create out of the shapes that we have learned about, and even some that we haven’t (like circles(challenging), octagons or other -gons).  Try following these steps to get a draft of your plan for a scale model.  The example of dog house has been used for consistency😊.
